Sprawled across 550 untamed acres along the Brazos River, Moon River Ranch is a protected sanctuary committed to preserving the wild. Where rare species roam wild, the river flows freely, and every gate opens to a Texas unlike anything you have experienced before.
The Water Came First
Moon River Ranch is not what you expect from a Brazos River resort in Texas and that is exactly the point. Our story begins with the water. We are defined not by fences, but by our deep, winding relationship with the Brazos River and the 550-acre wildlife conservation ranch we have spent years building along its banks. With 6.5 miles of protected river frontage including a rare three-mile stretch of pristine, white-sand beachfront found nowhere else in the Lone Star State, this is a landscape that cannot be replicated. It is more than a property.
It is more than a property. It is a protected sanctuary where the wild spirit of the river meets the vastness of the Texas sky, and where over 500 wild animals, from free-roaming zebras and wildebeests to protected oryx, share the land with guests willing to outrun the ordinary. Tradition and innovation are partners here. You might sleep under a canopy of stars in a historic Western Wagon one night and wake up in a glass-walled V7 Vessel perched on the riverbank the next. Moon River Ranch is a place as untamed and unique as you are.
Satin, Texas sits quietly in the Brazos River valley of Falls County, where the land has carried the weight of Texas history for centuries. Long before settlers staked their claims along these fertile bottomlands in the mid-1800s, the Brazos River, the Brazos de Dios, or "Arms of God," as Spanish explorers named it, served as the lifeblood of the region, drawing life, commerce, and civilization to its banks.
Falls County itself was named for the distinctive limestone falls of the Brazos, a natural landmark that made this stretch of river unlike any other in the state. The communities that grew along these banks, including Satin, built their lives around the rhythms of the water: the harvest seasons, the cattle drives, the slow pull of a river that never asked permission to go its own way.
Moon River Ranch was born from this legacy. We honor the deep roots of the Texas frontier while refusing to be defined by them. The land has always known what it is and we are simply its latest, most devoted steward.
